Looking for suggestions on a good stain color on red oak for a traditional colonial home. We are restaining all the floors in the house, so we have blank slate. I’m trying to stay away from stains that have orange/red in the them. Natural is lightful but afraid it will take a way from the classic style of the home. I also like darker stains like Provincial, but afraid it will make the rooms feel small, as ceilings are about 9’ feet high. Thoughts on ideas or resources to help me make a decision? Thanks.
