You could put radiant heating in your floor and put in tile and then have some beautiful throw rugs. We are tile contractors and we do that all the time.

I guess my first question would be to ask what’s there now? Tile? And the next question is what is the flooring and style in the rest of the house. Bare tile seems cold for a bedroom, so if you already have tile, then an area rugis probably needed.

More context please . Tile floor to me are not a great choice it is hard on knees, feet and backs. What is the flooring in the rest of the house . I never like wall to wall carpet anywhere .

If you install tile flooring would definitely plan on having at least a rug under the bed and perhaps in other portions of the room.

Hardwood.

Used to live in Los Angeles. You can't go wrong with wood floors throughout the house, site finished or engineered.

Tile can work in the southern CA climate, but can be very taste specific and also a look that can become dated more easily.

These days you also see LVP wood look floors in higher end homes, which I wouldn't use for my own house, but plenty of people seem to be happy with that choice.

If you just moved to the area, I'm sure you looked at many houses in your price point. What flooring did you see? You can also talk to your realtor.

I do agree it does depend on where you live. Hardwood is also a very good choice but if you’re in an area that’s chilly. I highly recommend the use of radiant. heat! It is wonderful under foot. I have it in my home and I absolutely do not regret it I love getting out of bed in the morning and when my feet hit the floor, they are nice and toasty! I walk into my bathroom where there is also radiant heat very comforting, especially for those who are a little older great on the joints. We do many high-end homes and that is something that we are asked to do often. we serve mainly in the northeast tristate area

Working on a new build in the Palm Springs area. I have my own personal preferences but I always like to keep resale in mind. There is not as much hardware here, due to high temperatures and it being so dry. The rest of the house will be tile, which is pretty standard for this area and many homes carry the tile through the bedrooms as well. Every now and then I hear arguments for people liking the coziness of carpet in the bedrooms. I can see both sides for sure.

Carry the tile through. Presumably large format. Get area rugs in the bedrooms.
