Before you get into the details, I am not sure that is the best furniture arrangement, especially the TV. Hopefully someone who is able will do a floor plan for you. Is that a sectional or couch/separate ottoman?

separate ottoman, The TV on a movable mount that can extend in and out and tilt 90 degrees to face the sofa.

Just from looking at the pics, I think a slim console under the tv would look for when it's tuck up against the wall when not in use. and I like your idea of rectangle table in place of a round table. The table set up, while a very nice set, looks a little small. Maybe a rug under your dining table would help. ?? I think a rug would look nice in the living area with the couch. You have quite the weird layout in term of tv placement.

How many in your household? How often do you use the table? Do you sit there only to eat or to do other things?

A rug - or two - one for each side, would really help define the space. I'd also like to see more robust curtains hung higher up above the windows.

We are two people, and we almost never use the table—we only use it when we have visitors. What shape, size, and colors would you suggest for the rugs? And what kind of curtains do you recommend to create that more robust look?
