Design Dilemma Kitchens

kitchen remodel to gain storage and space

We want to remodel kitchen to incorporate more storage and space with a coastal kind of theme. We like the look of deep blue cabinets with our hickory floors we currently have. In addition we like the idea of removing the drop ceiling in kitchen and vault to match family room and living room.

I’m trying to get some ideas for layout or design. Some I might do diy and some contractor. We are going to get quotes to see what we are looking at

Take accurate measurements and use graph paper to scale your layout. Make everthing readable. Refrigerators are deeper with the handle. Even counter-depth models stick out several inches. Two good storage options are wide base cabinet drawer units and 12" deep pantry cabinets. Task lighting over the work zones needs to be at least 450 lumens at the counter. Use leds.
