May be a silly question…I have heard that an appliance bought directly from LG, or maybe Ferguson for example, can be superior to one purchased from say a Home Depot or Lowe’s (for example) and that they are manufactured with less expensive (durable) parts in order for the big boxes to sell at the discount that they do. True or urban legend? The model numbers are often different than on the manufacturer website which maybe reinforces the rumor.
