Help! Light fixture is too big for room!

The fixtere is 65 inches wide and the room is 20x20. I love the fixture .Would raising it six inches (currently using the 12 inch extension) by using the smaller extension help? The electricians already installed it while I wasn't there. Am I deluding myself by thinking raising it would help? All suggestions would be appreciated!
