Do you mean the countertop? My vanity is some kind of vinyl and it’s all peeling where the water sometimes trickles down, so don’t have anything plastic looking. It doesn’t last.

The bathroom I am renovating I have bought the Pola unit from Tikamoon which is solid oak. I will be applying a water protector layer hopefully colourless. The others in my house are some sort of vinyl which is waterproof but looks very plasticy.

There is a big difference between two careful adults (we are) and a family bathroom with children. I chose oak because it is only the two of us using the bathroom. If you need something more hardwearing then go with Daisy's suggestion. :)). One size does not fit all. It depends on how careful you are, who is using the bathroom, how long you expect it to last, a whole host of factors.
