Move the little cabinet to bath to store towels or breakfast area to hold serving pieces. Get a lower and larger console, bookcase or cubbies in a darker color. A warm walnut wood to echo the little side table or a painted pieces in a shade found else where in the room like the blue of the chair would keep that grey and white from looking too sterile. If you get a lower piece lower the TV too keep it from competing with the mirror.

The tv is what doesn't "belong" there, and certainly is mounted far too high! Show the entire room from all angles, and a drawing with all dimensions noted is even better, ALONG with the pictures.

This is a bit of style conflict. The surround is far too fussy for the brick, for a RAISED hearth, which doesn't need or look good with anything more than the simplest mantel, At his point, your viewing angle is so high? You could redo/ remove this fire surround, and mount the tv over the fire- (where the mirror isn't reflecting anything but a ceiling fan.)

I realize you didn't ask....... But what is all this going one here?

There are probably a host of ways to make the whole room better, but you need more picture angles and that measure of the space: )

TVs are tough. It usually ends up with what works (function) vs what is stylish-because TVs just aren't. I think I would put a corner piece under the TV to match its angle if you leave it there. The have mounts that enable you to pull the TV out from the wall then angle as needed --when being used so it could sit flat on the wall....

I wonder if there is a better spot for the TV. It is a bit high. from what you have shown us, it looks like the TV might be better on the other side ofnthe fireplace, instead of the blue chair.

Shop corner TV cabinets. That would give you the corner angle you have now, but you place the TV on the cabinet for better viewing height.

I need to see the whole space . From the little I can see it seems the TV could go on the other side of the FP and that cabinet is serving no purpose so just move it out. Take that mirror of the FP too unless you just love the fan . and want to see it twice.

If that is the ideal spot for TV placement, consider having a bookcase built that fills the space below and looks intentional. But first make sure TV height is where it's most preferred. If the TV isn't already on a mounted extension arm, consider adding one so TV can be pulled forward and adjusted for height as needed. Consider bookcase color to be either same as wall color or the fireplace trim color.

From the little I can see, I would place the TV on the right where there seems to be more space for it to be flat on the wall with a longer cabinet under (or a floating one on wall) and place what you have on the right where the TV is now.

Agree with those who suggest moving the tv to the right side of the fireplace.

Is there a reason the TV is so high? If you look at your pictures, you will see the mirror is not working over the fireplace as it reflects the fan. Do you have some art you could place there?

definitely put the tv on the right side of the fireplace. i would also remove the white console, the clock, the ladder thing, and whatever that glass thing on the fireplace is.

The surround needs attention.

That whole wall seems crowded with stuff. Will suggest paring it down. Also, the only thing visible in the mirror above the fireplace is the ceiling fan (in the photos you've posted). Unless a mirror reflects something of interest I will always advise having artwork in place of a mirror.

Your main entrance door seems to be next to where you presently have your TV. So, I placed a console table in that space next to the fireplace and moved the TV to the other side with a console under the TV.

I think this location can be placed with a TV cabinet of suitable height, or an ottoman, so that you can sit and warm yourself by the fire.

Ok… so we are getting there. I bought a new chair and like my mantel mirror choice. Add some warmth. think I gotta raise the grassy pot up.

Have to change the things behind the chair now… ideas? And yes, the ugly white kitchen cabinet has to go. And no, I can’t move the tv…. Yet.
