I have no idea and IMO this whole gold thing is going to be gone soon. I agree we have no clue as to the colors the brands and why is the carpenter making any design choices .

By "handles" do you mean cabinet hardware? Generally, you can get any finish in any price point. You can get brass from HD for a couple of bucks a pop, or from high end companies at hundreds of dollars for one pull.

Keep in mind that the finish on the faucet doesn't need to "match" the cabinet hardware. It can be a contrasting finish, which frees you from choosing something that is close but not matching.

Do you have an inspiration photo that shows the look you're going for?

And why is your ‘carpenter’ sourcing handles after you selected them? If you found them somewhere that you like just go order them. If they are back ordered use painters tape in the meantime.

Buy a faucet you like. It needs to match everything close to it- soap dispenser, hot water dispenser, etc. Buy handles you like. They can match or be completely different. Often for me in a traditional kitchen I go darker with the handles because they are furniture.

I mean like mant trends this is a trend of gold tones . I still think you get the ones that are close and honestly unless you had the pulls next to the faucet they will never look the same since the light hits mtal differently even when they match. IMO the faucet should have not been gold but that is me .

The carpentor and I kinda never wrote a contract about what was included and he said usually he buys the hardware (that the clients picks) as part of his service to be all inclusive. Which handle do YOU like the best? That’s the only thing that matters. If ‘carpenter’ allows $10 per handle and you like one that’s $20 pay the difference. You look at and touch these every day.

Yes, what Hallett says--I always select hardware not only by what it looks like, but what it FEELS like. I'm very tactile, and because I touch those handles/knobs every day, I had to make sure I liked the feel of them. So definitely take that into consideration.

To answer your question, I like a contrast between the cabinets and the hardware, so for my white kitchen(s) I selected oil rubbed bronze (which reads black) from RH and Rejuvenation. Very smooth edges, no sharp angles. But that's me. Many here on Houzz don't like that much contrast and so use polished nickel or matte brass. It depends on your preference and the style you're going for.

I don't have to try to make myself like it ( thank you for permission!!LOL Sometimes I hate making waves so I just say yes and it helps I like a lot of things ..... just with this my gut said nah my pick really was the best match!!)

What brand of faucet do you have and what brands of handles have you looked at?

I do know that Hardware Resources has a couple of nice brass/gold finishes and so does Emtek.

I agree with Hallet - if the contractor is mentioning the price as being the "issue" then offer to pay for them. It's an odd thing for him to include in his project anyway.

I just finished my crisp white kitchen with gold hardware, the faucet and handles don't either match 100%, but still close enough.

What are you doing for the backsplash? I am up to that now and I am having a hard time deciding.

This isn't a great photo, and it's not a crisp white kitchen, but you can see the effect of dark hardware on white cabinets.

gg i love it I love the fresh open bright white and gold!! Is the top ( no handles) touch? Curious why you put your handles on top and not centered?

I LOVE My backsplash it is my counter top all the way up to the cabinets with light veining in a watercolor effect( so light , so gentle and so soothing)

I didn't put handles on the top because I like the uniform look of the matte white without any visual distractions. There push to open. I am having a little regret about this as it is not as easy to open as handles. If I get really frustrated, I might add them on.

Regarding the backsplash, I would've loved continuing the counters, but it came out way to expensive...
