Get a ruggable you need a mat that is washable and honestly I have LVP with a towel under a simple outdoot vinyl mat that the dogs have at the doggie door it has been there for 17 yrs and the floor looks great . I wash the mat weekly and that towel under it at the same time.If you you lift and claen under your mat when you vacuum almost any mat will work I find at my front door a really go mat outside catches most of the gunk before entry and then just a nice washable mat inside

Patricia, curious as to what suggestions/brand that will withstand 3 dogs, mud, snow and pine needles. You have had your LVP for 17 years and seem to like it and it has withstood your dogs. We have pine flooring and when no dogs, it was fine with just humans. We knew it was soft wood, but 21 years ago had it installed and 10 years ago, had it refinished. Then the dogs and now……….. Thinking seriously of LVP

I think you can buy any mat you like for your decor and place a natural rubber non-slip underpad.

I have a heavy ish weight wool rug that doesn't budge. I have nothing under it and have had it for a few years. This is at the door from garage into house.

I have this ( or a variation of it) and it doesn't move, doesn't damage the LVP. I can't recall the size, and it is between the door and a closet, but provides enough space to wipe feet. I did order it from HD and have been thrilled with it.

Nice rug! That was one I considered for furnishing two rooms we recently remodeled, and it's really pretty. Wool and cotton backings are fine for LVP. I might need to go back and take a look at rugs rather than door mats. Most door mats have TPR/rubber backings which can discolor LVP, and that's a risk I don't want to take. Lisedv, unfortunately, vinyl flooring has chemicals that react with both natural and synthetic rubber. This is what stains LVP flooring.

We just ordered rug pads from them, too. I'm looking for door mats that already have an "approved" backing, though. If needed, I'll order more rug pads from them but I'd like to skip that step.
