Beadboard Wainscoting in Bathroom

I'm about to start a bathroom remodel and I like the look of beadboard wainscoting to add some character and interest into an otherwise builder-basic home. My question is, how high should the beadboard go? Should it sit above the vanity backsplash (I'm ordering a prefab vanity)? Or should the top 1x4 be flush with the vanity backsplash? It's a small guest bathroom with a walk-in shower much like the one pictured in the last photo. The vanity will be placed along the wall immediately to the left as you walk in the bathroom (same layout as the second photo). The vanity pictured is the one I'm planning to buy. Thanks for any advice.

I am guessing you will have a moulding/rail to finish off the wainscotting, so I would make it a bit taller to show above the vanity backsplash for a finished look rather than die into the countertop backsplace shown.

The 48" pony walls are a very nice look for the shower. I agree the beadboard should be taller than the vanity backsplash.

Your first inspo with the high beadboard and a rail articulated around the mirror is a nice luxe look. Maybe try that for just the vanity wall and 48" for the other walls?

The most critical decision is to determine how you want the bedboard to intersect with the vanity and its backsplash. That will determie the height.

Having the vanity backsplash extend above the beadboard IMO is a bad idea.

There is no right or wrong, but after just looking at lots of examples on line, I find when it’s flush with backsplash height, you lose its impact. Also if you go higher there are more options for the molding‘s design. If you haven’t already, look on line to see what height you are leaning towards. Take into account what overall effect you want (will you be doing entire bathroom), height of ceiling, molding, color’s effect and if adding wallpaper. Consider the whole vs only its height.
