^^^Agree. Find tiles that match the background color of the porcelain. If the porcelain is matte, go with matte tiles. If it's glossy, go with glossy tiles. (Can't quite see the finish in this photo.)

Is the same party that installed the backsplash doing the tile? Do they have certain vendors they work with? What was suggested by the KD? I would say something that is not shiny and blends with the cabinets. Wh. Subway.

I've added another photo of the entire kitchen. The Porcelien has a matte finish. The individual that installed the backsplash is not the contractor we have to install the tile.

Why not continue the same backsplash under the cabinets.

IMO a tile selection might appear too foreign as a solution.

IMO backpainted glass in a color from the porcealian and please no traditional subway tile wth that . Waht drove that choice BTW . It is a staement piece and IMO either do all the same as that or a really simple backspash that porcelain is the stra in the space too bad you did not choose the start for the island counter instead

In installations like these I would consider a white that matches your cabinet color. There is too much variation in the porcelain to pull a single background color. Your other alternative would be to try to match the counter color, but in this case, I think the cabinets and counters are both white, correct? I would consider keeping it simple with a rectangular shape and white grout. Just keep bringing home samples until you find a white that works.

when you look at the piece behind the range is there a color that comes through..maybe a light blue there or amber ?? I'd want a color in a porcelain or glass simple tile...your space has overabundance of white, given the cabs, counters and floor is very light . dont see many windows, so lights will be on quite a bit....[presume] .I think pale color if there is one that works..just keep the shape and the configuration simple. not gray.
