Vinyl wood flooring under kitchen cabinets?

Hello! We’re finalizing a gut job on our new house. I’ve received conflicting advice on whether to place a floating vinyl flooring under kitchen cabinets. My concern with placing the flooring after the fact is needing quarter round around the toe kick. Any thoughts?

Cabinets go in before floating floors. Cabinets go on top of solid hardwood floors.

Yes, you need a shoe mold, quarter round, or baseboard at all the edges of a floating floor, to cover the required expansion gap.

With most vinyl plank flooring, it will void the warranty if you install cabinets on top.

Our original Evoke LVP extended slightly under cabinets which have a wide & flat piece from cab to flooring. Also have 5.5” tall & also flat baseboards in all rooms. No quarter rounds anywhere & never had any gaps around perimeter for 11 years the floor was in. Last year had Mohawk RevWood laminate planks installed. Baseboards removed all around as well as the base under all cabinets. Planks installed close to walls & slightly under cab bases. The cabinets were not built on top of the flooring but the flooring extends slightly under the cabinet base in the toe kick space. All baseboards around whole house perimeters reinstalled as well as cab bases reinstalled. No quarter round anywhere & no gaps. We also have no transition strips from room to room where the flooring extends into the rooms. The only transition strips are where flooring meets carpet going into 2 bedrooms. I didn’t want quarter rounds anywhere!
