Does anyone know how I can unscrew these?

Hello.

I am trying to rekey a storm door as previous owner did not give me one. To rekey, I need to remove the lock cylinder. White trying to remove the lock cylinder, I came across below screws which I don't know how to unscrew. Do I need to use flat head screwdriver or is there a special bit for these?

I don't want to mess them up by trial and error.

Those screws are fairly long. A large flat blade screwdriver will give most torque for loosening then a med point Phillips makes it faster/easier to complete removal. Phillips starting back in until resistance then flat blade for final tighten.

That's a nice looking door.

Most screws like that are so you can use flat or Phillips, whichever is to hand.

thank you @klem1 and @G W i will give it a try but the depth of these grooves is so small that I am not confident flat head will do the job but I will give it a try.

Yes the groove isn't deep and that's why it's important to use a wide blade and apply downward pressure for the initial 1/4 turn. Lefty loosey (:

Oh sure,unless the head is damaged while removing lock the screws will be fine to re-use. If they are damaged don't fret. Take screws to any hardware store to get replacements.

I'd happy to hear it went as planed and thank you for letting us know. Hang onto that large screwdriver, it can be handy for opening paint cans and planting flower bulbs.
