i’m always recommending the large tapestries from Anthropologie, they are inexpensive and a bit different from all the canvases in Home Goods etc

(fwiw some lamps would really warm the room up at night)

I would say look for a lrge piece of art and since probably not original look for one in the colors you like. I will sau I am not seeing pink and gold with what you have . 1/2 the pillows pleae and maybe in the colors you like . IMO pink and gold say glam so if that is the direction you want to go then you need a new ruf and probably no plaid . I have this rug since I wanted to add a bit of gold It is gray and gold but for sure it could work in your space with some pretty textured pillows in a pale pink and maybe a thro the chair for now is where I would do the throw.

Then maybe something like this from Art.com to add the pink but keep it from looking like a bedroom you could do a really simple gold metal frame

Personally Im looking at the room on the whole, and maybe a more cozy way to set it up..

The first thing I'd do to help the space feel cozy is to get the furniture off the walls. Pull each piece in toward the coffee table. You could put a console table behind the sofa and put a pair of lamps on it, then hang some art. You could also put some tall bookshelves on the wall. Bookshelf lights would add warmth too. Replacing your blinds with woven/roman shades or drapery would add coziness.

Can you show us the whole room -- I wonder if there's a different way to arrange the furniture? For your color scheme -- are you open to a new rug with some blush tones in it? You already have some pink pillows, and you could get lamps with gold.

    Example of table behind sofa:

    Or bookshelves:

Is the furniture like that because there is a tv in the room?

Yes there is a TV on the other side with a fireplace and built in shelves on each side.

Here's what I'd suggest. Please take it with a pinch of salt, because I'm no decorator.

First, find a rug or a piece of art or some drapery panels in the colors you love (you mentioned pinkish tones or golds). I've found that Loloi is a great brand for rugs. I have several from them and they are fantastic and affordable. Once you've got your 'inspiration piece' whether it's a rug or drapes or a piece of art.... Use that item to pull color from. Get some paint chips and lay them on or beside the item that has your chosen colors in it. It's a lot easier to match paint to a rug or some drapery than it is to match those things to an already painted wall. Continue to refer to your inspiration piece so you know what colors to shop for when you are searching for accents like throw pillows, candles, decorative accessories or even upholstered furniture. Always bring fabric swatches home and hold them up next to the item to be sure it's a good match.

Personally, this is what I did. I found some drapes that I just loved and from there I basically built my whole room around them. Another good tip is to incorporate some greenery, even if it's artificial. And lamps. Layered lighting seems to warm up a room and bring it to life, in my experience.

Find a large piece of art you love that has a wood frame around it that matches the wood in your mantle to echo the other side of the room. Just search warm blush and gold art. Artwork is too personal for us to suggest a particular piece.

Pull your sofas about a foot off of the wall so they don't look so held up against the wall. Instead of what pillows, I'd opt for more of a mushroom or bisuit the color of your cabinets. (Can't exactly tell what they are from the pic.) A pillow with a large weave or bulky texture would help it feel a bit cozier against the sleek leather.

Art for the space is requires, however, IMO a different area rug could help this room considerably.

I could see another rug in there but quit honestly, I think the one she has works better tan the ones proposed above by Beverly. Usually I love what you suggest, Beverly but these seem bit too harsh or not sure of the right word.

Pink is easy to add into the scheme, but, first, rearrange the furniture and bring it up closer to the fireplace.

For your layout, putting all the furniture on the rug would make a big difference. You have two options...front legs on the rug (which it looks like you can do), or buy a bigger rug...something inexpensive like sisal and then layer the rug you have on top of it. Face the sofas; bring the two buffalo plaid chairs into the mix.

    Add pink drapery panels.

Etsy has many pink influenced window treatments. Also, has throw pillows for the sofas.

For the wall...classy and cheap...peel and stick frames from amazon.

If you are using just the rug you have, it will be the default measurement for the wall. You want at least three frames. This is the fun part. Buy a roll of a wallpaper you love and frame it.

Salonva, how does the buffalo check fabric work with the Oriental design of the rug. Not that you can't mix styles, but it appears 'off' to my view.

    Here are additional options.

I'd lower the TV and as suggested move the seating closer to the TV

Maybe the Birch Blush I and II by Carol Robinson would work in gold frames. I just add the link since I don't know how to copy the picture into houzz.
