What sconces? What does your dining room look like?

Sorry this is my first post on here and I accidentally left out some info and now I’m trying to figure out how to delete it and start over lol!

So the black pendant is going over your island, and the gold sconces over the range area.

I would use either the first or second light fixture in the dining room, if those are the only options. But depending on what your dining room and furniture look like, you might also consider a round chandelier.

Who decided that shelving was great idea those sconce and the stuff on the shelves will be acontinual cleaning mess . At least a pot light above each shelf would have been better .As for a DR light we need to see the space the table and what style the space will be that is how you choose lighting.IMO an island light needs to light the island that pathetic little bulb will never do that job.

Thanks for your input, but the shelving and sconces were intentional design choices that fit the look we’re going for, and we’re happy with them. Cleaning is manageable, and we don’t feel it’s a big issue. As for the dining room light, I’m aware the style needs to suit the space, we’re still finalizing that but the table is to the right of the island, it’s an open concept design. The island lighting works for our needs, but we’ll adjust if necessary. Appreciate your perspective!

IMO a DR light is the star so it is usually chosen first and the other is just done to work with the star.but you can'tget help with thta choice until we see your DR and IMO yoi should not choose it until the DR is done there is no rule says you have to have the light right now. If you must then look for a chandelier that combines black and gold and BTW those scones belong in a bathroom no way in a kitchen no matter what.

Agree with Diana, if you could provide a photo of your dining room so it could help with light selection.
