Help styling buffet

I'm looking for suggestions in styling this alcove. The alcove is 52" w and the buffet is 39" w x 32" h. Thank you!

Add a matching lamp with same size stacked art as other side to help keep it cohesive…you need a much bigger rug too.

I never thought of doing that type of lamp. Thank you for the suggestion.

It's a genuinely lovely chest that looks totally out of place in your room.

It fights with the stone fireplace and with all the furnishings you have selected so far. And looking at your room, this is the kind of item I would have purchased a pair of.

Why is the paint on your walls so very pinkish when compared to the tile on the floor?????

Any of these items below would have been a better choice.

Thank you Beverly. I already had the chest and was repurposing it. Is there any way to make it work? I think the walls look pink from the morning light hitting them.

Would you consider exchanging their locations, as a desk and large chair right at the front entrance feels odd visually and also from a functional perspective. If it were me actually, I’d create a better connection to each other and importantly, the room. When having company and chair is removed, there will be more consistency and balance + nicer visuals as you enter your home.

Could the mirrored chest go in the dining room or a bedroom?

I also think that the chest does not go with the style of the room and the rest of the furnishings. I would not use it in this room.

If you are keeping the existing chest, I would replace the lamp and have 2 lamps of the same model on each side of the fireplace and place same size art above the chest. I would replace the ceiling fan for a more contemporary style.

Sorry that belongs in a bedroom in a very sdfferent style than that LR for sure I see 2 different sofas in the pics which one is the now one? For me amybe a nice thinck shelf there with a piece of art above it but not that chest ever .. Can we see a close up of the other console table ? I love the red chair but seems to be looking for a place to be and that is not the pplace . Sorry a sectional is always my last choice for seating so a bit biased as to how this space could look.

I’d like to thank everyone for their input. Unfortunately I don’t have the budget to get new furniture and need to work with what I have. But I will keep your advice in the back of my mind when $$ become available. In the meantime I will work on finding a lamp that complements the existing one and look for some square art that will fit both alcoves.

That should help balance things out..try adding items that are silver on to the coffee table.
