Agree with Kendra about the blue wall. We need to see the other end of the room. What are the room's dimensions? An accent wall should be a solid wall not broken up with windows or doors.so paint all wall the same color. Choose either the bedding or a rug then choose wall color. I would put the bed on the wall facing the windows. Get more substantial night tables and lamps.

First step is to consider a more appealing/balanced layout. If you provide a diagram with dimensions and structural components, you’ll get suggestions.

Next are needs, ie: if bed frame is fine don’t replace as it looks nice and use as a jumping off point for other furniture decisions. Consider budget and functionality such as storage (dresser and highboy), chair or bench, 2 nightstands, lighting, etc.

Next: decor/color scheme/overall feel, bedding and rug (size based on the layout). The last decision is choosing a paint color based on rug/bedding and room will benefit being all the same color.

Spend time looking at on line inspiration bedrooms that appeal to you both. It’s important to have some type of plan.

Cute in a grown couples space not working in my head. But a nice cozy feel very much so. . I love drspes in bedrooms and yes we need a to scale floor plan becasue the room looks large but the bed is scrunched into one end . I love paisley bedding it is pretty but not girly and accent walls have o connet to something so for right now choose bedding you both like , no flowered stuff , and then paint the whole room one color from the bedding If you google paisley bedding you will find tons see what he likes too This is just one color way.

Make a drawing, all the walls, show the windows, the entry , the length of every wall and where windows are in each wall. show the entry door the closet etc. Feet and inches for everything

Upload the drawing as a jpeg that can be enlarged, Make it bold and not the dimensions bold enough to read.

I'd get Roman shades or wood slat shades that match the bed. I'd get a duvet color with a pattern and some blue that matches the wall. Often the single person uses all of the dresser. One was to get more storage room is nightstands with substantial drawers. When my husband and I had nightstands with 3 drawers each (like mini dressers) we had the room to share one dresser. I'd get a rug, too.

In the end, a blue patterned duvet cover or bedspead and coordinating shams, a rug and new blind will go a long way towards making the room look designed and intentional.

I agree with rotating the bed. I would also choose a new color for that wall (actually I wouldn't use that wall as the accent wall at all so I would paint everything the same color). If you do not like light leakage when you sleep, I would suggest you look into cellular shades, not faux wood blinds. Drapes also help soften a bedroom (we use both blackout cellular shades and drapes in our bedroom).

I don't think the bed position is correct.

The bed should be positioned so you can have larger nightstands.

I would not sleep on a mattress that other women have slept on. Bad juju. But that's me.

I wonder if the room is wide enough to turn the bed. It looks like it only has about 12-18 inches on either side of the bed and if it is a queen that means the room is only 8' wide. If the bed is 80" long it may only leave 12-16 inches to walk past the end of the bed.
