IMO you need a lot more lighting at different levels for the LR too. As for the rest I need to see the whole kitchen and those pot lights are huge and really not gtreat overlall lighting .

They don't need to match, just compliment each other... often semi flush mount lights come in a 'series' to include pendants, hanging, etc. for just your situation.

Go to a lighting show room and see what is available in your interests... then ask if they have complimenting options to create YOUR look.

Ceiling lights in the living area is not optimum. If you insist on keeping that, please put it on dimmers. It makes the living area look like a hospital. Lighting is often seen as an afterthught - but it is actually quite important in this space. To start with, get a table light in each corner at chest height.
