I like the color combination, but I don't think anything fluted in a shower is a good idea. Sounds like a bear to clean - all those grooves.

I like the colors, design and fluted in the shower. The correct soft bristle brush with handle can be easy enough. I especially like the lack of gloss.

Also does this transitional vanity work with this look?

Have you spread jelly on that, let it dry, and then tried to scrub it off? Thats what scrubbing skin scells and soap scum is going to be like.

No fluting on shower tiles. A soft brush wont give you enough power to scrub. I like the colors but a lot of the grey is going to look rather modern and might call for a contemporary vanity rather than transitional.

Look at large porcelain tiles for your shower walls. They’re easy to clean and come in tons of options that will absolutely complement your other choices. Two ideas here but there are dozens out there for your new bathroom.

No fluted inside shower…honestly you will not like it..you can’t sqeegee it! get a smooth large tile..12”x24” works nice..I like the vanity choice..

the fluted tile is ceramic and installed vertical so water runs down ; stain resistant and easy clean

Water run straight down a completely flat tiped wall but it will leave soap scum if you don’t squeegie. Again, a soft bristle brush get in the grooves but doesn’t have the stiffness you need to scrub the grooves. There are other enticing tiles out there for sure that are more practical for this application.

Try to find images for transitional bathrooms with flooring like the one you are interested in. I’m curious to see what you find. I think it can be done but will need a skillful touch to make it work.

Is the vanity you posted the eact on you wish to purchase?

I have no idea why anyone would do any textured wall in a shower and believe me if you have hard water no soft bristle will help you. IMO bathrooms are best when finishes are kept simple so 12 x24 plain porcelain tile on bathroom floor, shower walls and the same tile only smaller for shower floor A nice counter with maybe a bit of pattern a nice vanity that works well with the floor tile , good LED 4000K lighting . This makes bathrooms easy to transition with anew color for walls or accents IMO cleaning a bathroom is my daily job so the easier the better and taching every one how to use a squeegee .

Somehow people live with grouted shower walls which are be many times more difficult to clean and don't add the beauty and aesthetic interest of a porcelain vertical matte fluted wall. Texture isn't necessary. There is another option. You can use the fluted material on the vanity wall and use slab material for the shower walls. the counter material is one source for that.

What about thin stacked tile? It has a similar effect to the fluted tile but is more cleanable.

was kind of going for this look but suggestions to put the grey up the wall threw me off at the tile design center

The kit kat tiles are not low maintenance bc of all the grout, but since they’re glazed and not grooved, they’d be easier than the textured tile. I love your inspo pics; looking at them, I don’t think you need tile up the wall unless you really want it.

I am going for this inspirational photo as my guide. No need to go up the wall with that dark tile. I agree.

We went with the Breckenridge Paul Martin vanity; the same style as the one in the photo but with open shelving for nice fluffy white towels at the base.

For tile use on bath floors check the DCOF. Should be .42 or higher to be safe when wet.
