Need help with ideas on how to finish the fireplace surround. Its a very strange fireplace set up. Kind of like the old heatilator style. Ducting will be finished to the sides of the base. Air is circulated around the firebox then blown out the top vent. Seems too tall for a mantle. I'm thinking maybe stone surround to the ceiling like the included picture but would love any ideas.
