I am sorry, since it looks like it was a lot of work, but, the paper needs to go. It goes with nothing in the bathroom, including the floor, and it is so very busy, it makes the room look crowded and unwelcoming. We have all made a mistake once in a while. This is one your daughter will remember, and hopefully, will never happen again.

Yes and yes, heh. Yes, she can hire an artist to change the paper. How costly or easy it is to find the artist, who knows. And yes, she should consider it and take it down. Pretty paper, but too much. I like the sample with fewer butterflies on it better than the purple ones of either tone.

Way too busy, I suggest to remove the wallpaper. The butterfly prints would look much better on a solid colour, I would choose a warm white in the same tone as the trim in the room. If she likes butterflies find 2 more gold framed butterfly prints to hang above the towel ring.

In my experience, most people here prefer minimalism over maximalism. Purple, gray and green definitely go together. I love the wallpaper and think the room looks great. With that said, I also really like the sample she has taped to the wall. But I totally don't think it's necessary to tear down the current paper.

This is tough if trying to minimize expenses. Yes, it’s the “wrong” wallpaper for the other finishes, since it doesn’t loop in the green or the dark cabinetry.

OTOH, the framed butterfly prints make it worse, not better. Without those brighter, higher- contrast pics, plus having bright gold frames, the all- lavender + sage green would give a softer look. Then if using any art, I’d use a deeper sage green frame or warm wood frame on prints/ art that has similar colors as the other wallpaper sample— medium- deep but a bit soft. Then towels & accessories could fit it. So it might depend on how much $$ & effort is tied up in all those things, & what’s easier to do.

Well, thank you for these comments because ideally, she needs to keep the wallpaper and change out other things that don’t give a coordinated look. So, I’m not quite following what you said about the pictures. Can you clarify or add photos? You are advocating for keeping the wallpaper and changing other things out, correct? I’m just a bit confused. Thank you.

What is she willing to change? First you suggested changing the wallpaper, now you are willing to change other things? None of it goes together so what is her favorite element? Design from there. Regardless the framed butterflies are terrible with the paper, move them to the bedroom.

Yes, she is willing to rip out all the wallpaper and start over. I’m trying to find an alternative for her. Since that was all very costly. Her favorite element is the color of the green cabinets.

If she decides to take down the wall paper and paint the walls a warm white it could be interesting to have the wall above the mirror and the high sloped ceiling painted in the same green as the vanity.

Perhaps accessorizing the room grounding it with darker shade of the purple and lots of white in the background of art on the wall.

But I still prefer the warm white paint with the green ceiling.

The woodwork, cabinet, and paper are so different. White woodwork would be better but not great. If I wanted to keep the paper I’d lean into maximalism and paint the woodwork purple.

Ditto Hallett’s suggestion…white would be okay, a really safe choice. I’d probably lean into a purple though too.

Well I have heard she loves the green cabinets so lean into that. Don’t try to repaint what she does like just to make the wallpaper work.

The dark green cabinets will look great with a similar hued purple. The soft green trim is the problem- it’s just dead next to the cabinets and paper.
