Looks like a typical Arizona home to me. What is it that you are not liking? I imagine this is in a HOA neighborhood and there are limits to what you can do to it. I might add colorful pots with Bougainvillea in them. Your tree is still small and will fill in as it grows.

The tree in front of the window on the left may be a security concern. Look at the other homes in the neighborhood. What colors do you like? Keep in mind that dark colors may make the home warmer and light colors may make the home cooler.

It looks splotchy. In a really old landscaping book, I once read the phrase 'a plethora of minutiae'. It was in reference to having a lot of small beds. While you don't really have beds, in the traditional sense, there are a lot of small groupings of objects. I'm seeing six groupings, not counting the trees. So I'd try to rearrange things into two or three groupings, at the most. The curb isn't in the picture, so I don't have an idea how much space is between the closest plants and the road, but I'd be tempted to arrange a horseshoe shaped 'bed' with the bottom of the horseshoe running along the road.

To me the landscaping look s abit contrived so maybe larger rocks and fewer areas with them but bigger pretty much what mad said More like this

Hire a professional to develop a long range master plan that can be implemented in stages over time if money is an issue.

You need to come up with a landscape design with more cactus and succulents in different varieties, textures and colors. We had a large cactus/succulent garden in our previous house in LA and there are so many varieties to choose from.

If your neighborhood allows, I would rip out that cement driveway and replace with cement pavers.
