I use the Matte sheen with Sherwin Williams for all our walls and ceilings. It's a selection with their Duration paint line. They won't sell quarts in Snowbound either because some of their white shades are too difficult to get the colorant to process accurately.

You should consider different sheens throughout and the gallon may be used somewhere.

Thanks for the chart! According to the S-W sheen display, Velvet is one step less glossy than Satin. They look pretty similar, but I prefer less sheen.

At least for exterior paint, the performance level matters for sheen, Durarion is satin only,

Right. I think we want to go with Velvet. Still wondering if there’s much difference between that and Satin in terms of sheen. They look pretty similar on the S.W. chart. Any preference for interior walls? May have to just spring for a

So question for Sherwin Williams: Is Velvet suppose to be a low sheen or higher sheen finish?

Most of the info from Sherwin Williams says Velvet is on the lower end of things (as indicated in the sheen color chart). But when I applied it to the walls, it's definitely medium to high shine, more in line as indicated in the table above.
