If you are able to go to an Andersen showroom, that would be the best way to answer your question. They have literature, pictures, drawings, samples, and experts. They may even have some freebees to give you.

How far is the closet one to you?

If you go to https://www.andersenwindows.com/windows-and-doors/windows/casement-windows/100-series-casement-window/ you can see photos of houses with combinations of fixed and operable casements. The sight lines are identical. You can see a very slight difference around the sash as there is no gasket.

There is no difference in appearance from the exterior view. You can mull them together and they will look exactly the same. Not guessing here, know this for a fact and 99.9% positive. (I never claim 100% on anything).

Home depot sells Anderson windows and usually a few of the most common sizes in stock but everything I needed were ordered from Anderson through home depot.

Your move to only egress for opening is smart. It'll save you a ton and avoid future problems. Consider options of going one large instead of several mulled if an egress isn't involved.

Egress windows don't need to be large, requirements are a minimum of 20" wide x 24" in height, that encase a minimum of 5.7 sq. ft. clear opening of glass. The tricky part was keeping the seal height within 44 inches from the floor and also keeping the window tops and doors all matching the same height to look good.

The minimum height window I could use from Anderson for egress was the standard size of 41" to achieve my requirement in rooms with 8 foot ceilings, but also used others with heights up to 60". Consider the appearance from the outside when picking the height of the window. All Anderson windows will state if they are suitable for Egress.

Yes, cost was the factor for going fixed over operable. in everu house ive owned we may open the windows a couple times a year if that.. Ive been working on this house plan for little over 4 years and trying to finding ways to make cuts without sacrificing performance too much. in this case its a win win.

It depends on how many and what size fixed windows you'll have. If you have a substantial number that'll represent a significant part of your cost, the next step is to custom produce them. You can have a local company produce the insulated glass portion. You can tell frame and install them.
