Wallpaper question for eat in kitchen dining area.

I took all of your advice and went with hardwood floors I thank you. I now have a question and I get various feedback. I love hindson palm 🌴 ( Beverly hills hotel wallpaper) I want yo paper my dining area in my eat in kitchen with it. It as you know is a BOLD maximalist print. My cabinets are navy with brass hardware my countertops are statuary marble. Floors hardwood.
I have alot of windows n light.
However the space us small .
I want to paper 2 walls.
I was told it's too busy. I was also told it makes space larger. Imput from you all. I straddle the line of minimalist & maximalist. I see the esthetic in both.
I do love this paper but idk.

It would be too busy for me. I honestly think it will detract from your new kitchen. But I am not you. You love the paper. Would it work in the powder room? Or the guest bedroom?

Best advice - wait until the kitchen is complete and then see how it looks.

Some people like bold patterns/color and some like plain monochromatic designs.

If you like it, go for it. It is just wallpaper! If you get tired of it after a few years, it isn't hard to remove and repaint the wall.

If you like the bold palm design I would also get some samples of this other wallpaper, which I think is a nicer design. Comes in several colorways.

In a larger space - maybe. In your space - maybe one wall if your'e going for a tropical feel.

the oversized pattern...[each leaf/ stem is blown up in size] is what is off...... I think some color/pattern is a good idea esp if you favor that as a visual. Just not this one.

Agree with herbflavor -- the scale of the print is off. If you really want a bold wallpaper here, find a pattern with a smaller scale. Truthfully, though? This sort of bold statement is best reserved for a powder room, laundry room, or bedroom IMO.

I’ve always liked this paper and think it would look fab in there. My vote is to go for it.

If you have an IG account, search Martinique wallpaper — so many rooms with it come up, including kitchens and breakfast rooms. It might help to see it in a variety of finished/decorated rooms. It’s certainly a bold choice, but it seems to fit your style.

A couple of screenshots from IG — quality isn’t great, but much clearer if you look for them over there:

And Google has lots of images, too, of course.

With such a bold (pretty!) paper on only two walls, the space may feel broken up and potentially awkward, especially with so many disruptions. Consider just adding on the least broken up wall and I think the paper might be better appreciated.

Wow-wee. I'm not a fan of large print wallpaper, but this looks wonderful. It is a smashing compliment to your counters and cabinets. It looks bold and adventuresome in just the right way in this small space. My only question is where to end it? What is to the left of the single outside door? It looks odd to end it where you have the one sheet hung to the right of the door. What is down that hallway or in that other living space? An you post a pic from far down that hallway looking into the kitchen?

@kendra the other side of the slider starts the cabinets so it would only be on the left side and above the slider and the long wall by the other door. The space has alot of windows so it not a solid wall of it.

I'll post more photos when the uppers go in. As a side note I ordered it from estoffy ( I think spelling) from France was much cheaper. I netted to $233 a roll. I can return if I decide well except for the opened roll. ( I could not resist!)

I like it. Bold, colorful, confident, assertive, daring. Do it, and own it!

You could have another timelessly-common and tastefully-boring resale white and designer-herd muted murmuring barely-a-color whispering kitchen. Or you could have a kitchen that strides up to the mic and belts!

(And you can always change the wallpaper.)

No. It's going to be all chopped up. It isn't needed. You are "ending" at a slider! unfinished edge. You don't have this, or the way the paper would be very successful in a powder room for the same reason. Containment, not illogical endings.

as Jilly posted..... a room where it can be contained.Wrapped for impact.

Find a fabulous fabric for chairs instead

I get where it ends on the sliders. I asked about the single glass panel door. Are you just starting it to the right of that door? It won't go over the door or to the left of that door? If this is correct, I think that is the problem. I don't mind it in this small space, even chopped up in a small space. But that single door and where it starts feels like a big problem. What color with the wall be painted to the left and on top of the door?
