Towel Bar Placement?

Where would you recommend we place our towel bar ? The wall between the tub/shower and the open door is about 35 inches. The towel bar is 18 inches? Would you center it with the open door ? We will likely place it between 44-46 inches high.

Yes, just center it between open door and shower. I can't believe it is a question : )

Position the towel bar about 10-12 inches from the shower edge at 44-46 inches high for both convenience and aesthetics. This will ensure easy access while maintaining a clean and proportional look on the wall.

    35" minus 18" is 17"

Centered? leaves 8.5 to the shower, 8.5 to the entry door. Don't split hairs.....it's math

This is the correct answer, and when it's YOUR HOUSE anything can become a question. I think we all have a fear of installing the wrong thing or installing the right thing incorrectly.

2 hooks so much better than a towel bar and just placed to allow air, 18" is barely big enough for one towel and normally that is not folded to fit the bar.

She has another thread. The bath isn't really used.............at all.

Thanks much - appreciate feedback to the obvious - we just spent a ton of effort patching the walls so want it to be done accurately. Never need to be prickly in responses!

Also, thanks for the suggestion about the hooks - agree 100 percent and only hang one towel on the bar typically typically!

Could you do a wider one? Would it make sense to do a grab bar that can be used as a grab bar? Just asking before you make holes.

Centering makes sense but so does hanging it closer to the tub, not necessarily because of reach but because of less drip area if you grab it while still in the shower.

You could also install it on the back of the door.

    For heavens sake!

Two pictures, from two different threads regarding the SAME BATH....

Left is from your rug question, right is your towel question

You have a bath you "don't use" with a deep blue rug

Center the "best fit" rug on the vanity.

Center the towel bar between the door when closed and the tub tile edge

Hang some art over the towel bar!

Put two hooks on the back of the bathroom door

Keep a coordinating bath mat on which to step out of the shower.....fold over tub edge when not in use.

Guest tip? Add a terry oversized hotel style robe.- nobody ever packs one.

It's a bath you barely use.

    Done!!!

Good grief. : ) Best not to make hard.,....from simple.

Last tip? Don't use the junk hollow wall anchors that come with the towel bar- get decent anchors at the hardware store.

    And ......

as to prickly? I don't mean to be. But just as adding in ones head is sharpened by not relying on a calculator? There are some decisions that with two minutes thought are a bit of a short muse.... what makes sense/ is obvious/ is easy . Right?: ) Yessssss!!!!

Wow Jan... you sure have a lot to say! I posted twice as people tend NOT to answer multiple questions in the same thread. Also, yes, simple questions (and I"m very good at math), but also walked away with some other interesting options as well. Try leading with kindness... it does go much farther. Have a great day!
