I do have one last question. I may be able to strip my current dining room chairs for a reasonable cost. If so, would you keep them along with the upholstery or change it out? Then, what color stain and color of upholstery to give the new look some character? Thank you.

I'd choose the light wood (natural oak) to contrast your existing floor color.

as for the upholstery, it's personal... for me the Navy blue option, you have a rich blue in both pieces of art.

I would choose an all leather chair no legs showing metal at all and IMO a color form which ever art you will hang there maybe teal since that would go with each art piece

The style of the light wood chairs in the photos, below, complement the table better than your current chairs even if refinished.

Agree that a rich teal upholstery will look great with the woods and art already in the room.

Lantern Visual - Yours and the other wonderful people who commented were spot on. This guidance lead me to the perfect chair both in size, shape and scale that compliments my travertine table perfectly. I went with this fabulous chair covered in a beautiful boucle gray fabric and flat black powder coated metal structure.

I was able to bring it home for a trial run and fell in love. The look and comfort is wonderful. So excited that in 8 weeks time I will be able to enjoy the new look that will enhance our dining pleasure.
