Where are you in the build process?

Just started framing.

Be consistent, B&B in the gables, lap everywhere else.

I dropped the porch roof down, and reduced the height of the door and flanking windows. Made the upper part of the columns larger. Removed rock from garage.

Suggest making the fascia larger and thinking about how everything will be trimmed.

Include a frieze, and a band dividing the different types of siding.

On the side and rear, consider a band of trim dividing the first floor and floor below.

The windows read contemporary, but the house leans to rustic/craftsman.

Design all sides of the house at the same time and as if each one is highly visible from the street

I couldn't find a great image of what I was thinking, but I do think the lower siding should be verticle as in the Board & Batten and the Gables horizontal

the verticle will draw they eye up.

I am wondering if you can do a color variation on the entrance area if it is on a different plane? Like slatted verticle.

I too like the idea of a banding, water table, but don't see all the details in the image you posted.

I think if you have six or more different sidings on a house you can get a substantial discount from the lumber yard because they can send their customers to your house to see what those materials look like.

I could be wrong.

We have hardie lap siding and panels on our home and no stone. I really like the two.
