Do you have plans to sell soon? Do you like it? Personally it does nothing for me and I would most likely lose it but that's just my .02.

I think it has a purpose to ventilate hot air from your attic. There may even be an old exhaust fan in the cupola, but I see no other vents on your roof so an alternative venting system may need included. If you coverup the roof venting attic temperatures will soar along with your air conditioning bill, not to mention drastically lowering asphalt shingle life span if you're using them.

Nothing like making your house look like everyone elses.

I would leave it. It looks just fine there.

Thanks for all the comments. Well I know the new roof includes two new vents, as is required by by code I believe. Selling is a possibility in a year or two. Seems I may be overthinking it... probably would make no difference to a buyer if its there or not. So I think I'll keep it as it reflects the original construction. Now to decide on the tile roof color, I know dark greys seem trending in south Florida but thinking I'll keep it white to reflect as much heat as possible.

I would get rid of it. It doesn't add anything to the architecture and just looks odd, plus it is another point for potential water intrusion with a an already low sloping roof.
