Need help with exterior—limewash?

last month

I recently purchased this home which has some great architectural details, but there are definitely things I don’t love. The orange brick really clashes with the stone in my opinion, so my idea was to limewash the brick in a soft white which will retain some character/texture and blend with the stone better, and then add charcoal gray shutters. But I’m also finding the doors and windows to be a challenge. I changed the front doors to a cherry stain to complement the garage doors and update the style, but now the arched window above kind of sticks out like a sore thumb, so I’m trying to figure out what to do with that and am leaning towards replacing it with bronze pencil grids that match the front doors. I’ve got some before pics and then a crude mock-up of what I’d planned, as well as my inspo photo. But I’m honestly not loving any of these ideas so far and don’t want to make costly mistakes. Any thoughts for me? Or any recs for a reasonably priced visualization service? TIA!

THis is exactly why I never mix stone and brick together . I usaully prefer the brick but in this case a limewash is a must those two never should have been put together . You do have an "interesting " mix of styles and finishes I would begin by limwashing the brick then see how much else needs to be changed This was a case of someone liking too many styles and ecide thay could all go one one house . My advice one stap at a time so lime wash then another look at all the rest I would see about a more gray tone for the limewash not white .You want that brick to blend with the stone so darker gray IMO. I would not do shutters but again who knows after the limewash.

I'd begin by removing the trees hiding the house.

I would Limewash the house with part of the color of the brick peeking through the limewash.

A house takes on a 'vintage' appearance when you limewash the brick.

You might want to limewash the stone also......maybe.

Thank you lisedv! Would you keep the arched window as it is or remake it to match the front door better?

Below the look with same gray as the shutters but I prefer the arched window be kept the same colour as other windows.

Once the entire house is entirely painted that's a detail you can decide on when everything else is done.

THis architextural details are what exactly since this is exactly what I said too many "details " with no plan

The “plan” was to limewash and add shutters, and new doors would tie in with the side and garage doors. Too many areas of the house have stone to remove it. I’d love to do all stone, which is what I had at my last house, but we’re talking huge, major $$ and we’ve got too many other projects. I’ve been working off what I thought was a good plan but now I’m questioning things.

Update: exterior has been lime washed, which I’m very happy with. Chimneys had too much damage so are now in the process of being rebuilt, so they will get their lime wash when finished. Question now is, shutters or no? I think we need them to further blend the brick with the stone and make things look cohesive. I’d do Urbane Bronze/dark, warm gray color. Thoughts?

I don't think it needs shutters. It looks clean and grand now.

Just remove the two trees as suggested to open up the facade.

I don't have software but here is my sketch.
