Help my house exterior!

We recently got new white windows on our house. it used to have old silver windows with a diamond pattern. But now I feel like it needs a new trim color, gutter color or door color or something! Any advice would be appreciated.

There are no particular colors that jump out at me. Your lovely home will be kicked up several notches with new landscaping and hardscaping. It is currently quite long and lean..

Curving sidewalks, meandering plantings, wooden posts, and a spiffed up entry are needed. I am sure that you will get some great ideas from this site.

The wood (or whatever material it is) under the windows would look better if it were a color that coordinated with the brick better. See if you can pick out a neutral color from the brick to use there. Use that color on the garage door and front door.

You need landscaping that isn’t sheared. Color. Texture. Variety. Not one long toothbrush bush. With white vinyl windows your trim is white. Put a fun color on the front door.

Here's a visual of my suggestion. You also need to work on the landscaping,

Oh wow, Double Dutch doors, we were just commenting about that on another Dilemma. They would look great in white, esp. in the recessed shade.

I love the charcoal with white trim rendered by lisedv...very nice.

You could paint the wrought iron posts charcoal or even black for an updated feel.

I agree the hedges feel dated and could be replaced with a softer foliage at a low height.

    @tracefloyd

No double dutch door it's just the shadow from the overhang! :-)

Thanks for the response. It looks like the right hand door is open and the white siding on the left looks like a door

Or it could be glass on the right hand side. I'm still not sure which side is the actual door.

DD doors are nostalgic for me and I always suggest leaving them.

I like the wood siding panels where the windows are and would love to see them opened up and revealed in full. They are so important architecturally and balance the weight of the brick.

You could leave the hedge to the right of the door and the far left column as it blocks some of the brick. Block some of the garage wall with plants.

I have two thoughts to share: the apron panel that is green, should it be white to match the white of the windows, or should it be a red to match the brick?

IMO, it should be one or the other.

Wow thank you everyone! Yes it is a double front door. I left the one side open when taking the photo.
