Where to end backsplash, switch/outlet in the way?

Hi, just wondering where you would end the backsplash for this corner. On the left side, we are planning on taking it to the door trim but on the right, we would normally take it to the end of the countertop but that would put it midway of the switch (blue line). Unfortunately, we are not moving the switch. Would it look awkward to end right before the switch (green line) or go right to the right door trim (yellow line)? Planning on using Schluter for edges if needed.

Tiles: Floor and Decor Zelliege Pearl Opal Polished Ceramic tile.

I'd get an electrician to move the outlet and the switch together halfway between where they are now. Then tile the back and the side in line with the upper cabinets.

If you really can't do that, then just tile the back wall.

I’m with @Diana Bier Interiors, LLC, but it sounds like you’re not going to follow that advice. I’d recommend tiling out to the edge of the outlet cover (my red line).

Before you do that, you really have to repair your wall around and beyond the outlet. Yes, it is that bad, and the oulet actually looks crooked to me. Was this a DIY situation? Is fixing that going to be a DIY situation? If so, here’s a decent video on repairing drywall.

Unfortunately, we moved in with the outlet and walls being in this setup. We were told the previous homeowners had wall glazing with joint compound, we painted it over and were hoping to just cover some of that mess up with backsplash tiles after smoothing out the area.

In the perfect world, we would love to bring back our electrician but there are other house emergencies we have to prioritize.

I agree with Green Designs.

Unless there is a close water source with the potential for water damage to the side wall, I see no reason to tile the side wall with the outlets.

If you have other house emergencies, then wait to do this backsplash. A backsplash is not a necessity.

I agree no need for a side splash and also probably no need to go to the bottom of the cabinet either Repair the wall properly and do a short backsplash .

Certainly don't do a backsplash to "cover up" wonky drywall. Fix the wall properly. It will look better than a weird out-of-place bit of backsplash, and be cheaper too.
