Rug size help

last year
last modified: last year

I’ve got a wall that has a king bed, and will be getting two end tables if and when I find something that fits. The issue is that the space is restricted on the right by the entrance door swing, and on the left by the entrance to the bath.

Option 1: If I get a 9x12 rug, it'll be uncentered under the bed and the left edge will bisect the pathway to the bath. This is what the prior owner had, but I think it looks off.

Option 2: If I go with 8x10, the rug will likely end up an inch or two shy of the edges of eventual end tables. Which leads to my main question: Is this a mistake? The bed here is the actual one, the end table is temporary. The rug would not go up under the end table.

Option 3: Buy it as 9x12 and have it cut to size and bound or serged. My issue here is finding someone who will do that to a rug they aren't selling.

So, which route would you go? I was leaning towards 3 but given my trouble finding someone to do it, am now wondering if I'm overthinking 2.
