Use "Mudroom Laundry Room" as a search term in the Houzz photos to see what others have done. The W/D sitting on drawers makes them more massive, but since this puts them at a nice height maybe you won't want to change that. You'll see in most of the pictures people have utilized built-ins to streamline the appearance of everything going on in the space. I don't know how much money you want to spend on this, but maybe some of the pictures will give you ideas.

What is your budget? Do you want cabinetry made to enclose hanging space or enclose your W/D? Or, do you want more of a low budget solution?

What is in the brown shelving unit and what other kind of storage do you need?

For low budget I'd paint, get a more attractive storage/shelving unit, and hang framed artwork over it. Get a more interesting entry rug.

It is 73"x 152" and has the angled area by door to kitchen. I want to get rid of that big dark piece with the baskets and can do cabinets or something there. I believe there is plumbing, it shows a sink on the blueprints. I think I will need to get rid of the washer and dryer bases since it blocks the window. And am up for replacing the floor or I could get a runner maybe?.
