Show us the rest of the kitchen,............but you selected gray cabinets and a gray floor and it's going to be hard to overcome that combination is you think that equates to 'cold'.

Your cabinets look like a fairly warm gray on my monitor. I think the cold feel is largely coming from the cool gray flooring, and runners might be the best solution. Plus some larger countertop items in a color you love.

I think there are two issues in the kitchen.

The fake looking gray 'wood' floor and it's possible your overhead lighting is not the best color temp.

It's making the room look flat. Are the downlights adjustable??

Contrast and texture always help a room be more cozy. Where can you add that to your room.

Agreed on not covering the range hood. Some easy ideas to try:

1. Switch cabinet pulls to warm tones--gold, brass, copper (not bronze)

2. As mentioned, colorful runner rugs.

3. Dress up the narrow wall to the right of the cabinet, art in warm tones (landscape?) maybe even a small side table in that corner with a plant on it

4. Bring in some accessories for your counter in lighter wood, or coppery tones, or color to coordinate with your new runner(s) and artwork.

I would find it very confusing. Things dealing with heat/fire ought to be metal or stone. Cabinetry in my world is best when wood, as in stained not painted. You are suggesting flipping the switch. I don't think it will get you where your brain is trying to take you.

PLEASE no reclaimed monster hood will make anything better . Many ideas were already given gray is a look that can be quite inviting with the right accessories . We need to see the whole space please then we can help one wall does not help us help you

I think a warm wood….will help with with a cool gray kitchen..White might be very nice too..and than add some warm wood accents in your decor.

The current color and configuration of hood and range make a solid pleasant and sufficient feature on that wall.
Why fiddle with extra covers,added $$ and more intricate cleaning to break up this ideal vignette?
Your kitchen does not vibe cold or sterile.
Some wooden or bamboo baskets,bowls,boards could warm the counters,but in my view ,the fruit is already working well.
Adding some non slip area mats in warm colors will also draw the eye...I am a fan of red toned oriental rugs .
They exude a friendly warmth and as a bonus ,can somewhat camouflage drips and spills.
Try cooking tomato sauce dishes for an instant warm up!!Haha...no matter how carefully I prepare tomato based pasta sauce,some spots always escape to dot my backsplash,range and counters.
Colorful teatowels and vintage table cloths can also be deployed to delight the eye.

Your kitchen is very nice, including the range hood. More color in the accessories will work wonders. Currently you have a dark brown cutting board, a brown tray & a white “chicken bowl”. Look at how well the color of the fruits on the counter brightens the area. Add colorful countertop accessories & replace the white dishes in the upper glass doors of the cabinets with colorful dishes or objects. Your room is fine just dress it a bit!

You don't need to add a lot of warmth, just a bit. Wood, warm metals (copper/ gold) or some yellow green color could really liven things up.

Yes add some wood somewhere a wood cutting board a wood tray and if you still not happy I would paint the cabinets a nice shade of green there's different shades from dark to light and they look so good in the kitchen it really brightens up

I agree. I don’t think a vent hood is necessary and I don’t think I’d go rustic. Keep it simple. Maybe you can do a custom hood vent. But I’d do white plaster or something to match the cabinets maybe

It's hard to tell from one photo, but your countertop appears not to be pure white. But your backsplash tile looks brite white. Maybe just switching out the backsplash tile to something warmer? Depending of course on the actual color of your countertop.
