Moen Weymouth broke after one month

Sadly this morning we discovered that our newly installed Moen faucet started wiggling after less than a month of use and upon inspection, there is a plastic part that cracked.
We are already contacting Moen warranty but want to ask, 1. How would this break by itself? And 2. Is there anything we can do to temporarily fix it until the replacement comes? It's so inconvenient without a kitchen faucet.

A strong glue to reinforce the crack until the replacement happens?

If Moen is anything like Kohler, you’ll have the replacement part on your doorstep in two days...free of charge. Talk to Moen first, before you start mucking around with glue and such. The two day “inconvenience“ will fly by.

Moen is awesome about replacements. As to the damage I would bet it was over tightened

The cracked part is a built-in part that came manufacturered. If it was overtightened it was done so by Moen. Our water pressure was also checked to be in the 40s

We tried gluing but it didnt work as the water still leaks.

Since we bought open box from Amazon, Moen didn't serve the warranty. Amazon ended up giving a refund and we bought a new one with warranty.
