Relocating Loriopi

last year

I had a shady area that was adjacent to my bee hives so i planted creeping loriopi & ajuga there. the hives are gone & the huge hackberry tree was taken down by a storm so I decided to move both plants to under my Linden tree. that's proving to be a challenge cuz the Linden has a lot of shallow roots that make it difficult to dig plus I do not want to damage the tree. the clumps are hard to separate so I came up with a plan. I'm cutting the root clumps into smaller pieces with a long blade on a sawzall. the smaller clumps require smaller holes & help to get a wider area covered. the ajuga will help fill in while the loriopi gets reestablished.
