How to blend two different eras/styles of furniture - Master Bedroom

I am hoping to get feedback/guidance on my current project. I applied panel moulding and crown in my master bedroom and painted out the crown and baseboard in the same colour. We have a similar french bergere, baroque mirror, oversize painting, the rug and lamps are existing items. Nightstands, dresser and bed would be new purchases. that we want to keep in the room but we want to add more contemporary pieces as a refresh to our furniture The lamps in my picture are also existing and I would like to keep them but not sure that we will be able to.

Hoping to create a neutral colour scheme with a few black accents to anchor the room and bring in silver metallic accents. I know that different styles/eras can work and create interest/tension in spaces but I've also seen when it doesn't work so I woul really appreciate feedback on if the modern elements (rug, bed, night stands/dresser, art and lamps) will work with the wall panel moulding, bergere, baroque and future state bedding (linen duvet and velvet blankets and accent pillow).

The walls are a balboa mist which looks like the paint colour behind the lamps shown below and not the paint sample below . Much closer to a light grey than it would indicate.

Any accent bed pillow colours/patterns/fabrics would be really helpful too.

Your mood board is spot on. Run with it. I like your casement pieces because, while newer, they evoke a bit of a 50s modern vibe. The colors throughout really mesh and flow together. I'm usually big on black accents to tie things together but you've done such a good job with colors, texture, and materials that you don't need to lean on black too much.

No print or patterned bedding. Go for lux neutrals. Maybe sheets with a nice greek key embroidery trim as a nod to another era.

I'd get a statement chandelier with modern glass globes. It will contrast the wall molding. 9' ceiling isn't too low, especially because it will be centered above the bed, which is lower to the ground than a were it a fixture above a table. I really want to see this Talia fixture in your room, hung closer to the ceiling. It reminds me of floating clouds. This is 100% not my style, but I do appreciate it none the less.

I would do a neutral bed with textures rather than pattern or color.

Creamy white. you have enough gray with the walls.

How big is the room and what kind of natural light? windows? patio door? It would be nice to see photos of the room with the moulding.

Have you arranged any of the furniture yet.

Arrange it the way you think and take some photos.

The room is 17' x 22' and has two large south facing windows along 17' wall and two smaller east facing windows along the 18' wall. 2nd story bedroom with 9' ceilings and dark oak floors.

This is an older picture of the partial layout.

The rug is very worn and is being replaced, the bed is going and the chair has already been changed.

it's not a huge room, and with your dark furniture, I would lighten the drapes to sheers (diffuse light nicely) you could even add blinds for a layered look.

Thank you. Any thoughts on a chandelier style? With the low 9' ceiling we are limited in style/size.

IMO the casement pieces you're selecting are not the correct style. Select tranistional painted pieces.

I'm not sure which pieces are existing and which ones are proposed by looking at your mood board, and none of them match what is in the room photo. Very confusing.

I dislike the new modern bed...does not seem to go with anything. I dislike the black wreath and black valances...mourning pieces.

Also the swirly rug is "off" and not soothing for a bedroom.

Thanks for your response. From the mood board, I have capture existing and new. Existing is the rug, lamps, chair, art work and mirror. New would be the bed and casements. The picture of the actual room shows black valances (they are gone), a tufted transitional chair (also gone) and the bed and area rug that will be going. The wreath is actually green and was from Christmas (lol) that is also gone (for now). The plant, lamps and nightstand are also gone or going. Unless it's in the mood board, it won't be in the room. Do you not like a modern bed or this modern bed? I ask because I want to create some tension between the french inspired pieces and more contemporary pieces. Do you think the bed is too modern? Any thoughts would be very much appreciated. Also, if I remove the bergere chair and the mirror from the equation, would that remove the confusion?

I used AI to create these four rooms for you from the same prompt using an approximation of your pieces. Rather than a modern bed, think contemporary. I ditched the swirly rug, a plain one seems more serene. I did not specify layout so adjust accordingly. I forgot to include the chandelier but you could go very modern with it. The average size primary bedroom is 224 sf. OP's primary bedroom is 374 sf - not really a smaller primary bedroom. If the OP lives in a "luxury house" - it would be smaller than the typical 400-600 sf. However, even if the OP lives in a "larger home" - it would still be a good sized primary bedroom.

The colored nightstands, or dresser, will break up the one-tone-for-everything problem. Yes, the rug isn’t a good addition but you can change that after the rest of the pieces are in the room.

I agree with @RedRyder. Having a matching dresser and nightstand feels a bit off in an eclectic room. I'd keep the night stands and consider a black dresser.
