Subway Ceramics shipping charges?

I'm planning to install some Subway Ceramics tile (about 36 square feet--nothing insane) in my kitchen. Does anyone know what their shipping charges are like?

Do they sell direct to consumer or have to go through a tradesperson/tile showroom only? Looking at the website, I suspect that might be the case. When I purchased Pratt & Lambert, the tile showroom would only sell to a contractor that had an account on file there (IDK what all is involved in that...), the showroom doesn't sell directly to the public.

If you are talking about the folks in Wisconsin, here: https://www.subwaytile.com

According to their shipping info, they use FedEx and other common freight carriers. So your shipping charges would depend a lot on the weight of your order and the distance you are from them. If the order is over 150 pounds, additional fees may or may not apply.

Are you talking about Subway Ceramics from Heritage Tile? If so, yes they sell direct to consumer. That’s where we got our backsplash tile from 9+ years ago.

I suggest you call them to ask about delivery charges. What we paid 9 years ago would not be relevant today.

Yes, I know they sell direct to consumers. The question is "What do they charge for shipping?" I know they use FedEx, but so do lots of companies, and yet the shipping charges always seem completely dependent on the will of the company.

This has zero to do with the seller and everything to do with the freight company's charges. It's going to have to be palletized, and you probably do not have a dock. Lift gate freight for pallets is based on weight and distance. Short distances (50 miles) with 1 pallet start at $150 for Fedex. If you are all the way across the country, it could be $950 for a single pallet. I've had $4500 in freight with them before. But that was a whole house, not just a backsplash.

Why are you not just calling the company? You’d already have your answer, had you done so.

If you know the shipper the company uses, and shipping seems to depend on the will of the company.... then you would need to contact the company. Ask them how much the shipping would be on the order you want to place.

They have a contact form online, you can fill it out with a quote request. If you pick out your tile, and know the amount you want, you can ask for shipping. And you can ask to be contacted by phone, email, or either: https://www.heritagetile.com/contactus

Shipping costs depend on the volume the customer does, the carrier used, the class rating of the shipment, the distance between the points, and if dock to dock, or a liftgate is involved.

We use SEFL a ton. Our rates are a $75 per drop for 1 pallet within 50 miles, dock to dock. Add $50 for a liftgate. Etc. Someone that uses them less might pay $100 per drop and $75 for liftgate service. Or they might pay $250 if they have never used them before. Etc.
