BM Moonshine would be a fresh wall color. ceiling, walls and trims all the same color.

I like Your BM Rosephine as a neutral. many colors will compliment it, even a butcher block countertop. Is this a remodel? what do you have for floors? good lighting? natural light?

I should mention... we're not a fan of grays. Looking for softer shades of whites and warmth and color. But, thank you very much. I'm good at picking a main color, just not good at picking coordinating colors.

It'll depend on the led lighting white color you choose for your task and ambient lighting. You'll need to make samples to compare in your space.

Ambient light of some white value, possibly 3500K.

Small kitchen really break so many rules and the color depends much on the layout. (I live in NYC and get small kitchens!) Though your kitchen can't be too small if you have chairs in it - right?

For the most part the two tone trend is on it's way out and I'm thankful for it. But, it might be right for your small sized space.

Can you post pics of the space, your cabinet style, and your flooring?

Low light is a problem. All kitchens should be bright even if you don't have natural light. What is your lighting plan?

I would use the same rosepine color for both uppers and lowers and the trim, rather than introduce another color for the top cabinets. I do not like many shades of green, but, I do like this color.

This is a combined living room and kitchen space. The exterior door is on the right. We are looking at the unfinished living room space.

Moving around the room to our right, you can see the same exterior door. A small table and chairs will be in front of the window. Upper and lower cabinets will be along the wall where the green is.

Continuing to move around the room to the right, more cabinets where the green is. Leads to a doorway to the bedroom and then the wall to the right connects to the left of the first picture.

I wooden chairs are not painted then stained wood – like walnut or natural oak for an organic, layered look

For painted chairs :

Chelsea Gray HC-168 – dark, grounding, and cohesive.

Pewter HC-166 – earthy and tonal next to Rosepine.

Newburyport Blue HC-155 – for a bold, elegant contrast.

Two toned really makes sense in here if you paint the walls, ceilings, doors, and upper cabinets the same color. The uppers will then visually disappear into your walls and make your whole space appear much larger.

What countertop material are you considering? If you are going for a white counter, I'd find a white paint that matches the counters and use that for the cabinets, ceiling, doors, and walls. In addition to the space feeling more expansive, it will also be brighter.

Figure these things out before deciding on your chair color. Also impacting your chair color: What will your flooring be and what furniture are you adding to the living room area?

Where will your fridge and dishwasher be placed? Will you have enought room to open them with your table in it's current location? I wonder if there is a table and chair set up that you can float, sort of like an island that will feel like the centerpiece of the room.

At this stage can you post a floorplan to scale with dimensions? The kitchen layout could get feedback from the community. I can see more task lighting is likely needed.
