The easiest solution is to remove the knob and paint the door the trim color. If you put a window there how will you patch the stone. Is this the same contractor who had you removing the dormer?

Removing the door leaves you with the problem of figuring out what material to use to replace it with. No matter what you go with, it won't match the stone, will look like a patch job, or like there was a door there that you removed.

Instead just replace it with a door that has square windows in it instead of the pie shaped windows so it better matches to other windows and doors.

I'd remove the tree that has grown close to the house.

I’d spend as little as possible on the door and would just paint it the same color as the house so it fades away visually.

Spend the money instead on enhancing the front door to make it more welcoming and functional. Suggest removing the window and installing a double door with glass to allow more light to flow into the living room. Skip a screen door, as it’s a tight space to manoeuvre. Add a large mat to highlight the entrance even more and pull the look together with complementary cushions. Think about the big picture and the effect you want overall. It’s such a cute house and play up its feel.

You have ONE front door so make that the star and paint the others like the siding but the actual entry a color to draw the eye to the actaul front door .The style of your front door does not really suit the house so make that a nice full glass door even with grids to match the windows , No screen or storm door but if you need the screen maybe make thta windo beside the front door able to open with a screen . I would need to know if the bedroom has an egres window or is the door the only way to get out if there was a fire? I see no obvious reason you could not get a custom window there insted to match the window by the front door it would not require any more issues than the door just paint the bottom to match the siding ,It could actully be an egress window but it depends on the budget . Cute house so please make sure you get a good designer who has a good contractor , contractors are not good designers .

Perhaps replace the two non-front doors with French doors.

I did go ahead and take care of the overgrown/ill-placed trees, and I think it's a real improvement.

Although double-doors require very careful integration with a cottage-style facade, I really like the idea of installing these, and turning the smaller patio door to immediate right into a window instead (the stone mockup is just AI slop)

I would replace the doors with a window the same size as the one next to it. Underneath the window I would frame it with wood a paint your trim color.

I don't think double doors are appropriate for your charming house. They convey a grander look (which I'm not fond of), and most of the time, only one is used, so it's kind of a waste of $$.

Please, please, please replace the tree with stelae. That was a loss.

I don’t know how you feel about having some privacy when hanging out on the porch, but I would like just a bit of a barrier between me and the (pretty close) sidewalk and street. I think I would plant a shrub (or two or three) near the red circled spot. Choose something that won’t grow much taller than 4’ or so. Plus it would have the additional advantage of camouflaging that rarely-used door.
