I would start with an area rug you LOVE. Build out the space as you want to use it.

Good reading chair, desk? will you include a TV? photo of all four walls and measurements would help.

Why are you not using it as the designated dining area?

Because I don't want to. I have my fiance and myself and we sit at the island.

Would you take a photo of the living room? I can only see the end of the couch.

Yopu never have guests? I need alot more info as to how you live and entertain. I see a TV hook up BTW way to high do you plan on a TV? How many seats , what is your style Waht are the room dimensions so much info not available so fix that.

Don’t take the rudeness to heart. It is what it is around here.

You could do 3 or 4 swivel chairs with a center round coffee table or ottoman. Create a lounging, relaxing type of space for the two of you and also for entertaining. You could bring in a floor lamp or two. You could hang some art on the wall over the wood console you have there. Maybe also use a rug to define the space... a round rug might be a good option style-wise and also no corners to get in the way of the traffic patterns.

I‘m having technical issues at the moment so I can’t create visuals or post photos. I’ll try to do it later. But in the meantime, you can just do some Google Image searches for “four chairs (or swivel chairs) with round cocktail table” (or coffee table or ottoman).

I would only place two chairs here. Three or four seem like they will create traffic flow problems with the four main "entrance" areas off of this space.

The the two outdoor chairs on your deck and bring them into this space. Spend a few days living with them in various arrangements and using the room with them as you intend to actually use the space - two people sitting and reading or drinking.

I agree to pic a rug or a piece of art you love and then build your furniture and color choices off of those.

Just get chairs that are scaled/sized well for your space. You will be able to do 3 or 4 chairs there.
