Coffee table size and shape
I need advice on the proper shape and size of a coffee table for my living room.
The sectional is 11’x11’ Depth of sectional is 41”. If you disregard the corner, the “cushions portion” on each side is 80” long. I’ve purchased two 31”x31” swivel barrel chairs in a charcoal textured fabric to go in the empty space to the left of sofa and an 11x14 rug (see pic) with 11’ side running in front of the fireplace. The space between the doorways on each side of fireplace is 12’.
Using butcher paper I’ve laid out different options and it seems that 40-42” square or rectangular 50-60” would work but which would be better? Thank you for the advice!

I'm just saying that two squares will fill the space so that everyone has access to a table. Two squares are easier to maneuver if they need to be moved or they can be placed so someone can walk between them to access the inner part of the sectional. I personally dislike undersized rectangles with a symmetrical sectional like yours because one side of the sectional gets a skinny end that not everyone can reach. But it's really personal preference for your lifestyle and aesthetics. Some people choose a coffee table that is nested so smaller tables can be pulled out when needed for guests. Some people would choose two rounds. edited to add, I forgot to mention how beautiful your home is. I think this first one would look great with the rug you chose.

last monthHow about an oval glass table? It lightens the room and offsets the hard angles. Here are examples at WAYFAIR just to inspire. Not sure the sizes are right.

The sectional scale is such that a fairly large coffee table/ ottoman is needed to balance the area. Small glass tables will never accomplish this task..
