That buggy bloom is gross. I sure hope whatever you are doing this year continues to work. So nice to see all your blooms again........My favorites of this group are Orange Blossom Trail and Red Venom. I grew Apache Sunrise and it performed about like all the Frank Smith daylilies I've trialed. Short scapes, low bud count, tender, but with a gorgeous face and color. I don't have room for many "just a pretty face" daylilies, so it was gifted on. It is a pretty one.........Maryl (we stand at over 7 inches of rain now. Can I hitch a ride on your ark?)

So many pretties here! I hope those nasty bugs are gone for good. I couldn’t help but marvel over Contrary Canary, what a show off, so many blooms. That is my kind of daylily. Forget about the fancies…..give me all those buds.

Maryl, you are so right about the Smith cultivars. They all perform the same way for me as well. I wonder if they perform well anywhere. Sorry, that bloom is indeed gross. I am excited to see other older cultivars that I have not seen in 10-15 years in one of my back beds.

Sherry, I am totally with you on multiple buds vs fancy!! And Contrary Canary fits that requirement!!

Those are very pretty, Kate. I was quite taken by Apache Sunrise. Orange Blossom Trail is a beauty too. My Kate's Smile is blooming too and your Who Would Be Queen is indeed a pretty one.

I thought we would float away this morning and forget being able to see where you are going. Tremendous rain, just tremendous and Of course we were on the road which didn't help. There is the semi promise of a dry Saturday, but rain again tomorrow.

With rain, it always seems to be feast or famine. We have had a lot this spring and we can't keep up with the mowing and the weeds are terrible. A little moderation would be nice.

You have posted many beautiful flowers today. I always like Wild Cherry Wine when it is posted. I also like Lillian's Thin Ice and Venom. I hope those nasty bugs stay away from your garden (and I hope they don't come to mine). Apache Sunrise does indeed have a beautiful face, but it was a poor performer here, so it left the garden several years ago.

Kay, these storms keep training through. Trees down again in our area on Sunday. And I was not kidding about my garden shoes being sucked off my feet by the mud. I had to go retrieve them this afternoon with a rake.I cannot even get in some areas to photograph blooms.

Yes, Apache Sunrise can have stunning blooms but such poor plant habit. Nancy, I understand why it left your garden.

Fingers crossed on the lopidea bugs this year. I have seen some and some buds have dropped from their piercings but so far the plan seems to be working!

P.S. Maryl, I will save you a spot on the ark but the mosquitoes absolutely are not coming this time!!!

Kate, Kay and Maryl - It does sound like you need an ark. Here in my part of Indy we've missed rain some of the days last week and yesterday. It's been coming from the South and going east of us. We may get some today though.

I'm glad to see Bubblegum Queen with three blooms and to know Red Venom does well in your garden. Apache Sunrise has such pretty blooms. I'm sorry it is so short and poorly budded for you. Are you sure that's Lillian's Thin Ice? It looks more like Lillian's Vapor Trails to me. Who Would Be Queen has a nice cascade of blooms. I always like the colors on Heart of Glass.

Debra, yes, thanks, that is LVT. As you may recall, LTI never multiplied well for me and is in another bed. I can only say I may have been distracted by losing my shoes to the mud and standing ankle deep in mud taking photos!!! lol

These are beautiful except of course the pic with bugs from last year. I need to go lookup Orange Blossom Trail. I'm not sure I can help with Ark. Rowboat maybe.... We too have been in a steady rain since yesterday afternoon. I won't complain. Next week predictions are for 80's.
