It's a perfectly charming home as it is currently painted. Here is a greige and white color scheme that could be used for your home.

Try some gray-blues that would coordinate with the gray roof. If you have a spare shingle, prop it up next to some paint chips and eventually larger samples.

Off white (slightly gray) with terracotta or green trim is another option. Here's a link to a colorscheme in a William Morris print.

I like the color that it is now. It fits the house nicely. If you must change the color, stick with something light and similar to what you have.

Since there is already a lot of green... Perhaps salmon with either terra cotta, russet, or cream for trim colors depending on if you want your trim light or dark. Or a wine main color with tan to buff trims. Deep ocean blue with sky trims. Dark golden yellow with a variety of browns for trim- or a blue or cream. Chocolate brown with warm yellow cream, tan, or salmon trims.

Options:

--Honestly, the color you have now is perfect, but a bright colored door would make all the difference. I usually love sage green with a brown roof but creamy yellow with gray rooof works well with a bright door. Since your house is small, consider trimming down the bushes or relandscaping in front of the porch and add a couple colored chairs.

Yes! The sage greens were my favorite but now thst the neighbor is going green, it will look too similar. That’s what I get for procrastinating! :)

What is wrong with having a home similar in color to your neighbor's? If you love it, that is what matters. It is yours to come home to every day. Plus, you can do your trim and landscaping differently, have a different colored door. You could pick an entirely different color and then have someone else on the street do that same color too, and you'd end up not being the stand out on the street.

Small houses can be so many sweet color combinations. Some inspiration. First- lighter colors:

I think small houses can get away with pink.

My neighbors have gone all in on blue. We used to have a gray house and the house across the street was blue. We didn't think about them, when we chose a different blue, but since then, the house the house next door went dark blue, the house 2 doors down when sky blue and the house kitty corner from us went very dark navy.

So, I'd think there's plenty of opportunity to pick a different green, but if you don't want to do that, you can pick a greenish blue.

Look at your neighbor's houses or other houses in the town. Houses of the same era will probably have similar elements. What porches do you like?

These are the columns I like, but I dont think the historical society will approve the arch part of them. I also like the detailing on the top of the columns here. I was thinking if adding that detail to the posts above (but remove the frame part of the bottom part of the posts).
