Need help on a backsplash for new kitchen with Portrush Quartz

We are almost finished with this lakehouse renovation and I am stuck on a backsplash idea. I love the Portrush backsplash, but it is too expensive. My cabinets are a creamy white and I have a Navy Blue island. The counters are Cambria Portrush Quartz. I do not want white subway tiles as I have them in another kitchen with white cabinets and want to add color to this large kitchen. All ideas and photos would be appreciated. thank you

I get where youre going with this. It’s a lake house, you want whimsy. You want to feel the lake even when you’re in the kitchen. Don’t just go for color, go for shape.

This is Daltile Miramo in Aqua. Daltile makes great tile, it is very affordable, easy to mount, and has trim pieces available, something smaller companies often to not.

Choose something simple with very little pattern since you have that in the counters.

What about using the countertop as the backsplash? You could also look at doing a blue tile to match the island, but you might want to do something simple so you don't take away from what you already have. If we were you, we might try using the countertop that you already have as a backsplash. Are you able to get more of it to use? Here are just two designs of ours. You can see we used the countertops as backsplashes in both.

The cost of the quartz for my area was very expensive. I ended up buying a glass mosaic from Turkey to go on the very large opening above my stove. We are going to do a solid blue subway tile possibly in a herringbone pattern. I love the quartz, but we are way over budget for this house.

Maybe consider a white subway tile as well. That mosaic is all the color and interest you need for the space.
