Consider adding visual weight/less items that feel connected and the orchid will benefit visually. Its size/container will be important as well.

For those prices, you can go to Trader Joe’s and buy a real one every 4 to 6 months. Just get one with closed buds to.

Nearly Natural has very good faux orchids.

I would love a real one and I love them at TJ it’s just there isn’t much light and I can’t keep them alive

What shape planter would you do? Rectangle or round?

I like doing flower arrangements, real or faux, I am fine with both. But if your concern is not enough light for a real orchid, you could get a grow light or just a grow bulb.

IMO a real orchid plant will lasts for months I buy them because I love them and when the flowers fade I move them to a different space look after them and wait until next year for the flowers . So it is a continuous system that works for me . I truly hate fake plants or flowers even just a nice vase with real orchid stms that stilllast for weeks would be abetter choice . Actually orchids require very specific light and not intense at all If you learn about them they are quite easy to grow but not really pretty when not in bloom but IMO woth the wait . Honestly if you had less window covering your spot would be perfect for real.

You say the room is dark, but you have windows. Do you open your blinds/shutters? I have friends who live like vampires and never open their shutters!
