Our old (very old) peegee hydrangea broke in a snowstorm a couple years ago. i did a big pruning, and it has lots of new growth. At the base is where the large trunk broke off. (Lower right in photo). should i let all the new suckers grow from the base and a couple feet higher up, of remove all that and just let the top grow more? Thank you
