Starting in 2010 gray was trending for for 13 years, but has been phased out over the last 2 years. Unless you LOVE gray, you should rethink using a color that most people are sick and tired of seeing everywhere ... gray kitchens, gray sofas, gray walls, gray accessories, etc. Warmer colors and rooms are back in.

IMO mixing metals can be complicated and for really no benfit. I would do nickel or stanless hardware timeless and easy to get right I assume you going to rent this space out and if som keep it simple . I happen to still like gray trending or not but then I aslo do not follow trends , I just do what I like. For rentals simple is always best .

Since most of it is white, grey, stainless... I would stick with grey for the knobs too- be it nickel, brushed, whatever. Black could work too. Or maybe navy if you bring more navy into the details. The gold tone for the knobs looks like an afterthought rather than an accent or a mixed metal look.

light with any hardware, just keep it the same throughout, especially in a small space with little natural light.

Perfect, your kitchen will be more cheerful with cream cabinets! With a cream colour cabinet you can go for brass or one of the silver finishes for hardware and faucet.

In the picture below, you can see they have mixed a polished chrome faucet with brass hardware.

The problem was their creme was a yellow creme that was rough to match up with countertop. I’m heading there now for a second attempt.

Can this grey colored quartz work with the creme cabinets? I personally like it.

Is this for an airbn or possibly for an in-law setup? Then consider a few space saving open shelves for daily dishes, mugs, glassware that get washed regularly.

I've created many small kitchens. The way to make it bright and airy is to match the counter and cabinet colors. Other wise the counters really visually break up the space.

Why do you have to do get your counters and cabinets at the same place. Take a sample of their creme door and find a countertop that it looks good with. And yes, it is hard to match creme and creme but it can be done. For what a kitchen costs, it is worth it to take the time to shop around and get it right.

I have a very small kitchen and used creme cabinets with vanilla Corian counters. I thought Corian was cheap and would look too plasticy and I had a large budget and could have gotten any stone. But when I got the sample home into my space, I loved the Corian! It don't look any more plasticy than quartz and it worked seamlessly with my cabinet color.

HOWEVER - The key to a light kitchen is lighting! Be sure you are incorporating a lighting plan into your desing from the beginning!

Thank you! I would prefer to keep the colors similar. I am getting the creme door swatch today and already decided to venture off to another place for the countertop. What do you suggest then for backsplash?

White looks good with cream as does a white marble look quartz.

I run a 4-5" strip of the countertop material as the backsplash and then paint the splash area the same color as the cabinets and walls. It creates a wonderful field of cream. Paint is a protective coating for a splash area. Tile is not needed.

Everything will appear darker once life begins in the space.

That is exactly the look we are going for. I’m going to search for that combo.

This is the layout. Not the best but it is what can be done in this space. The fridge will be across opposite the stove.

With lighting, I should steer away from warm lighting and go more bright?

For now think more about where the fixtures will be located, you can work with light temp later. Will you have under cabinet lighting? Where is the main lighting in this space? The kitchen sink is a bit boxed in, will it have a light above it?

It looks like this kitchen is an area within a larger room, is that correct? How does that impact lighting?

What color will the walls be painted?

Is it possible to fit your dishwasher to the right of the sink? Then you can have larger base cabinet drawers between the sink and range. You will get a lot more storage that way.

Not as light in colour as it should be but gives an idea of cabinets that aren't so gray...

As mentioned by Kendrah, I do suggest a pendant above the sink as well as under cabinet lighting.

Look at housegal’s kitchens. Every one of them has recessed lights. A combination of those and a pendant light over the sink is a
great combination for anyone.
